Job Description:

Position Summary:

This position manages assigned accounts to maximize sales potential. Develops annualized strategic account plans; recommends assortments i.e. new products and product set ups;works directly withexternal and internal resources to promote customer exclusive opportunities; facilitates orders (receiving, notating, tracking, and issue resolution); provides price quotes and promotional opportunities; actively works trade shows; makes sales calls to National and/or Regional customer headquarters and store locations.

Essential Functions:

  • Work with accounts to ensure all sales activities are in line with Tervis goals and procedures.

  • Manage and maximize sales in assigned territories by gaining key market and customer insights.

  • Partner with retailers / decision makers in the creation of sales plans (forms / designs / merchandising / out-posting / etc.)

  • Manage regional team members to ensure they’re maintaining and expanding their customer base, building & maintaining rapport with key customers and assisting with their professional growth- which we currently do.

  • Collaborate with and support Marketing and other departments to execute on market development and education programs. Support trade shows, exhibitions and other market development activities.

  • Analyze account data to ensure correct product mix

  • Negotiate pricing and programs for new and existing accounts to maximize shelf space and product placement.

  • Work with accounts and Tervis Compliance to ensure all account requirements for product are met.

  • Complete sales forecasting and analysis for assigned accounts or territory.

  • Prospect potential sales through on-site customer visits, cold calls, trade shows and relationship development.

  • Develop and deliver sales presentations with account visits.

  • Resolve customer concerns and issues by escalating issues to sales operations & ExecutiveLeadership as required to support accounts.

  • Manage assigned account credits and credit holds.

  • Ensure that orders are submitted in a timely manner.

  • Present product line and product pre-pack assortments as they are launched by the company at shows and/or intervals determined by the company.

  • Assist in the development of account exclusive products. Contribute ideas, and work with product line development to facilitate creation.

  • Travel to required industry trade shows and customer sites for meetings and presentations.

  • Travel to storefronts and review merchandising techniques and submit suggestions to store managers / DMM’s / GMM’s.

  • Review and confer with customer compliance team for annual vendor agreement updates /new store openings / PPL’s / CIPSIA / GHS / etc.

  • Liaison for all order adjustments / routing or compliance issues / inventory availability / system updates / document changes - pertaining to active PO’s

  • Review and approve marketing allowances / co-op opportunities under $5k OR review and escalate business case for marketing allowances / co-op opportunities over $5k

  • Constantly stay up to date on product & policy knowledge while maintaining a strong knowledge of procedures and processes by attending and contributing to company meetings.

  • Maintain accurate retailer information as well as all contacts (buyers / DMM’s / GMM’s / MSC / EDI / Planners / AP / AR / VP’s / Creative teams / etc.)

  • Creation of virtual store-level footprints, planograms for new programs, and on site store revamps with merchandising teams

  • Analyze and react accordingly to WTD, MTD, STD, YTD sell thru reports for assortment planning and strategies.

Experience and Skills:

  • 5 to 10 years’ experience selling in "gift" retail market - BA degree
  • 5 years’ experience with multi-store retail chains

  • Experience working with six figure contracts

  • Selling in a quota-based sales organization (Proof of past performance at 90+% required).

  • Ability to work within a team structure.

  • Ability to learn and retain product specific information as it pertains to the position.

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal, written and telephone skills supported by strong interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook

  • Proficiency with CRM system in tracking all account activities large and small.

  • Proficiency with ORACLE system in navigating to pull PO specific information

  • Knowledge of planogram development (Excel - Meets, POG Software-Exceeds)

  • High accuracy rate in paperwork. Attention to detail.

  • Fashion acumen to assist in product selection.
